Announcement

It is our great pleasure to announce that the 15th Latin American Workshop on Plasma Physics, LAWPP 2014, will be held in Hotel Crowne Plaza Corobici in San José, Costa Rica during January 27-31, 2014.

 

The Latin American Workshop on Plasma Physics aims to provide a forum in which the research of the Latin American plasma physics communities can be displayed, as well as fostering collaboration among plasma scientists within the region and with researchers from the rest of the world.

A 1st Costa Rican Summer School on Plasma Physics will be organized during the previous week, 20-24 January 2014. It is open to students and young researchers participating in the LAWPP 2014.

 

Also, an IAEA technical meeting and a workshop will be organized during LAWPP 2014:

  •  “21st IAEA Technical Meeting on Research Using Small Fusion Devices (RUSFD)”, 27-29 January 2014

  • "2nd Workshop on Industrial Applications of Plasma Technology (AITP)”, 30-31 January 2014. The objective is to enhance the regional academic and industrial cooperation in the field of plasma assisted surface technology.

PARTICIPATION

In order to participate in the conference, the following major steps must be completed:

 

     1. Registration

 

On-line pre-registration will be available on this website on July 3, 2013: Pre-registration You will receive an email confirmation message to the email address you specified in your registration form. On-line registration will be available on this website on July 15, 2013: Registration After registration, you will receive an email confirmation message to the email address you specified in your registration form.

 

     2. Abstract submission

 

A one page abstract must be submitted after July 15, 2013 and no later than November 4, 2013. To get more information please go to Abstract and Paper Submission.

 

     3. Fill the payment form

 

All payments (registration fee, social activities, dinner) should be made in advance in USD $ in connection with the registration. When registering online, you will receive immediate confirmation of successful registration to your email

 

Venue

Hotel Crowne Plaza San José is located within 15 minutes from the International Airport Juan Santamaría. From the airport take the General Cañas highway southeast towards San José. The Hotel is located in front of Mas x Menos Supermarket demarking the end of the highway and the beginning of San José proper.

 

The Hotel has 213 comfortable rooms, 2 restaurants, including a Japanese restaurant and different services that will make your stay in the city an unforgettable moment. Some of those services are outdoors pool, gym and a casino. Besides, the hotel offers 13 meeting rooms and a successful conference program.
