Guidelines

Abstracts (format)

All abstracts must comply with the following format:

  • Download and follow these templates for preparing abstracts: .doc

  • Number of pages: 1

  • Page size: A4 (21.0 x 29.7 cm)

  • Page margins: 2.5 cm on left and right sides, 4.00 cm on top and 2.7 cm on bottom,  gutter 0.0

  • Fonts: 11 pt. Times New Roman (text), 11 pt. Times bold (section), 11 pt. Times Italic (subsection), 11 pt. Times italic (subsubsection).

  • Font size: 11 pt. (title), 11 pt. (main text), 11 pt. (figure captions, references).

  • Line spacing: single line spacing (text), 1 line space before a section, 1 line space before a subsection, subsections should end with a full stop (period).

  • Title of abstract: The title is set 17 point Times Bold, flush left, unjustified. The first letter of the title should be capitalized with the rest in lower case. It should not be indented, as shown above. Leave 28 mm of space above the title and 10 mm after the title.

  • List of authors: The list of authors should be indented 25 mm to match the abstract. The style for the names is initials then surname, with a comma after all but the last two names, which are separated by ‘and’. Initials should not have full stops. First names in full may be used if desired. If an author has additional information to appear as a footnote, such as a permanent address or to indicate that they are the corresponding author, the footnote should be entered after the surname.

  • Author affiliations: The addresses of the authors’ affiliations follow the list of authors and should also be indented 25 mm to match the abstract. If the authors are at different addresses, numbered superscripts should be used after each surname to reference an author to his/her address. The numbered superscripts should not be inserted using Word’s footnote command because this will place the reference in the wrong place—at the bottom of the page (or end of the document) rather than next to the address. Ensure that any numbered superscripts used to link author names and addresses start at 1 and continue on to the number of affiliations. Do not add any footnotes until all the author names are linked to the addresses.

  • Body text: Justified alignment.

  • References: 11 pt. Times, single line spacing

  • Figure captions: 11 pt. Times, single line spacing

Paper Submission
The proceedings of the LAWPP – 15th Latin American Workshop on Plasma Physics will be published in the Open Access Journal of Physics: Conference Series, which is published by the Institute of Physics Publishin in the UK. All papers published in JPCS are fully citable and upon publication will be free to download. Authors may be interested to know that JPCS now receives in excess of 2 million article PDF downloads per year, and is abstracted and indexed in Scopus, Inspec and elsewhere. Citations to JPCS papers are tracked online using IOP Publishing's citing articles facility in addition to the full citation tracking facilities provided by Scopus.

It is really important to consider the information below before submitting the papers.

Publication License for open access proceedings papers.

For papers published in our open access proceedings titles IOP Publishing no longer requires authors to sign and submit copyright forms. Please note that our regular journals are unaffected by this change. For our open access proceedings titles (including JPCS) copyright transfer forms are being replaced by a publishing license under which authors retain their copyright and no longer need to sign and submit any forms. Any author who wishes to publish in one of these titles must agree to the terms of the license and by submitting a paper for publication in one of these titles it is assumed all authors of the paper agree, in full, to the terms of the license.

The license terms and conditions are available online

Where to send your paper

Manuscripts, prepared according to the correspondent guidelines must be submitted through a form that is available. The deadline for submission of the manuscript is March 31, 2014.

Preparing your paper

Journal of Physics: Conference Series uses author-supplied PDFs for all online and print publication. Authors are asked to prepare their papers using Microsoft Word or LaTeX2e according to the journal guidelines and templates. Instructions on preparing your paper, together with Microsoft Word and LaTeX2e templates, can be downloaded from the following links:

What you need to provide

  • The PDF file of your paper: when preparing their papers, authors are kindly requested to ensure that they follow the minimum basic requirements from the journal guidelines. Full details are available online, but as a minimum authors should:

- Use either European A4 or US Letter sized paper with at least a 25mm white space margin all around the page.

- Ensure that their paper includes an abstract, however brief.

Not add any page numbers, headers or footers to your article as these will be added during the publication process.

  • Any multimedia files you wish to publish online

            - JPCS encourages authors to submit multimedia files to enhance the online versions of published research articles. Multimedia guidelines are included with the Word and LaTeX2e templates.
